Since 1973, Timberland has been committed to offering the finest products, using only the best materials and applying strict quality control standards.

Our warranty is an expression of our confidence in the material and workmanship of our company's products, and assures unsurpassed quality for rugged, dependable products. This, however, is not a guarantee against normal wear and tear. Nor does it apply to product that has been damaged by misuse, neglect, accident, modification or unauthorized repair or product purchased from an unauthorized dealer or seller.

If you believe your product is defective, you can take the product to any official Timberland store for an assessment, should the qualified store not be able to complete and assessment it will be sent for further inspection.

If, upon inspection, we determine that the product is NOT defective we reserve the right to not refund or replace it. Should there be a defect the product will be replaced, should we not be able to replace the product a refund will then be done.

Timberland leathers have distinctive character all their own. The grainy texture, small scratches and colour highlights are their stamps of authenticity and are NOT defects. Genuine oiled leathers may also develop a white surface haze known as “blooming”. The natural residue is nothing more than wax or oil rising to the surface and can easily be wiped off with a damp cloth. And since Timberland leather is NEVER painted or coated, its natural colour may rub off. Timberland leather also naturally ages over time and colour may change.

Please note that defects do not occur as a result of wear.

Assessment of products can take up to 8 weeks depending on influx.

 

Warranty (Watches)

Timberland watches are available at various jewellers and retailers in South Africa.

Should your Timberland watch need to go for repairs it can be brought into any Timberland store along with your warranty book.

Please note: All watches are sent to a 3rd party for repairs, this process takes 6-8 weeks. Should any repairs be out of warranty you will be contacted with the estimated quote on repairs before any work is done.

Timberland® Timepieces International Warranty

Your Timberland® brand watch is warranted against defects in materials and workmanship by Timberland® Timepieces under the terms and conditions of this warranty, for a period of two (2) years from the original date of purchase.

This warranty covers the following components: the watch movements, hands and dial. Should a covered component be defective in materials or workmanship during the warranty period under normal use, it will be repaired or the watch will be replaced (at the sole discretion of the service center) free of repair charges. A copy of the receipt or dealer stamp is required for proof of purchase.

This Warranty Does Not Cover:

battery, case, crystal, strap or bracelet

damage resulting from improper handling, lack of care, accidents, or normal wear and tear

water damage unless marked “water-resistant”

This warranty is void if the watch has been damaged by accident, negligence, unauthorized service, or other factors not due to defects in materials or workmanship.

How do I check my order status?

Log into your timberland.co.za account, you can check the status of your most recent orders by going to “My Account” and selecting “Order History” Please note: you will not be able to track the status of your order if you have signed in as a guest nor will you be able to see your order history and/or past orders.

Please note that it may take up to 24hr for order information to update on timberland.co.za. Order status represents what is happening with your order between the time it’s placed and the time it ships from our warehouse. After it’s shipped, you can track your order while its in transit through the assigned courier company with the tracking number provided by the courier.

Order that are placed using the manual EFT option are only processed and begin their journey to you once you have emailed your proof of payment (POP) to online@timberlandsa.co.za these orders will not be processed without the necessary documentation.

 

Can I cancel my order?

Should you wish to cancel your order you may do so by sending an email to online@timberlandsa.co.za along with your reference number. Barring orders that have been handed over for shipment.

If your order was placed via credit card refunds take 10-15 business days. Orders placed via instant EFT or manual EFT are refunded between 5-10 business days.

Orders CANNOT be cancelled once they have been handed over to couriers and a return and refund process will have to be followed.

 

Why did you cancel my order?

Occasionally, orders or parts of an order are cancelled by our systems for various reasons. Some reasons are:

  • Item(s) were not available for purchase
  • We had difficulty processing payment information
  • We could not ship to the address provided
  • Manual EFT orders were left unpaid for X amount of time.

Please note: Carts are cleared on a monthly basis, Timberland reserves the right to clear user carts at its discretion.

 

Will you email me about my order?

 

After you place your order, you will receive emails from Timberland.co.za providing the information on your order status are correct. Some examples of the type of emails you might receive are, order confirmation, order invoice, review reminders, birthday emails etc.

 

How do I check out / complete my order?

If you are a returning customer and have an account at timberland.co.za, please sign in using your email address and password.

If you are not registered, you can proceed through checkout without creating an account. You'll have the option to create an account at that point, or be prompted to enter an email address to checkout as a guest. Please note: you will not be able to track the status of your order if you have signed in as a guest nor will you be able to see your order history and/or past orders.

Registered users

Your email serves are your timberland.co.za account identification. We will email you with all information pertaining to your orders.

Your account stores information such as your order history and billing and shipping addresses. It also offers you the ability to track orders. Your account is password-protected to ensure that only you can access your personal information.

Shipping

Timberland South Africa provides free delivery on all orders nationwide. If you are a returning customer your default shipping address will appear under “My Account”, this can be edited at any time. Shipping takes 2-5 business days once processed.

Can I edit my order in the shopping cart?

You can change sizes and colours [should they be available]. To do this, select the orange "Edit" link beside the cart item. Quantity can be updated on the cart page. When finished, hit "Update" and your changes will be reflected in the cart.

Remove an item from your Shopping Cart. To remove an item, click on "Remove", and the item will be removed from your cart

Save to your Wish List. Items saved to Wish List will be removed from your Shopping Cart. You must be signed into your account (or create an account) in order to view and share your Wish List in the future.

Enter a Promotional Code. If you have a promo code, enter it in the Promo Code space located beneath your list of items. Select "Apply" to see the discounted price.

Return to shopping. If you wish to continue shopping on timberland.com, you can use the Shopping Cart to store items you wish to purchase. At any time during your shopping experience, you can return to your Shopping Cart by clicking on "Shopping Cart" icon at the top of the page.

Proceed to secure checkout. When you are ready to purchase your item(s), click on "Secure Checkout." Our checkout process is fast, easy and secure.


How do I open an account so I can shop online?

Opening an account with timberland.co.za gives you a fast, convenient way to buy items, an easy way to track your online orders and exclusive news and access to Timberland® events and products.

Your profile contains your personal information, such as your name, email address, gender and birthday. This is also where you can change the password for your timberland.co.za account. Timberland will never share your personal information with others.

 

How can I see my order history?

Order tracking information is available by logging into your account and selecting Order History. Click on the tracking number provided to view the delivery status of your order.

Please note that it may take up to 24hours for order information to update on timberland.co.za. "Order Status" represents what is happening with your order between the time it’s placed and the time it ships from our warehouse. After it’s shipped, you can track your order while it’s in transit through the designated courier.

You can also view your past orders in Order History.

How do I use the wish list?

Your Wish List is a place for you to save items that you're thinking about buying. Items placed in your Wish List will remain available even if you leave the site (should you be logged into your account) and come back later or another day, making it easy to find what you want when you're ready to make a purchase.

To move items from your Shopping Cart to your Wish List, you have to be logged into your account.

Items will remain in your Wish List until you move them into your Shopping Cart or delete them. If we sell out of one of your Wish List items, it will display as out of stock.

We offer free delivery to your local Timberland store within 2-5 business days. Simply insert the store’s physical address underneath the shipping information. All stores addresses can be found in the “Find a store” tab.

We will gladly refund or exchange any items in a saleable condition along with the purchase slip within 60 days of purchase. Please note that whether or not the item is in a saleable condition is done at Timberland’s discretion. Timberland reserves the right to refuse an exchange should the product be deemed not to be in a saleable condition.

 Your refund will be processed in the same manner payment was made. We cannot process cash refunds for items purchased online.

Exchanges can be done two ways:

Your purchase in a saleable condition along with your receipt can be taken to any Timber land store and exchanged in-store should they have the product/size you would like to exchange for

Or

The courier company can collect your purchase from the deliver address, the purchase is then shipped back to Timberland’s warehouse. Once the product arrives at warehouse your adjusted product/size will be sent to you. Please note this process can take up to 15 business days.

Should you wish to return an item you can initiate a return by emailing online@timberlandsa.co.za along with your reference number and the reason for the return.

Timberland reserves the right to refuse returns under its discretion, this applies for online and in-store purchases.

Credit Card refunds should 10-15 business days after the product is returned to a Timberland store or collected by a courier.

Instant EFT and manual EFT refunds reflect 5-10 days after the product is returned to a Timberland store or collected by a courier.

 

RETURN EXCEPTIONS

Gift Cards and eGift Cards are considered final sale and are not eligible for return.


What cleaning products can use on a canvas shoe?

Renewbuck™ cleaner, the Dry Cleaning Kit, and Balm Proofer™ All-Purpose Protector can all be safely used on canvas footwear.

 

Can I use a blow dryer on my boots/shoes after applying Balm Proofer?

Yes. A blow dryer will help the product bind to the material, creating a strong barrier to protect from oil and water stains.

 

How do I restore my boots that have faded over the years?

For leather, Waximum™ Waxed Leather Protector is designed to restore oils. For other materials, fading is a normal reaction to general wear, tear, and exposure to the sun.

 

I feel like the colour of the leather on my shoes doesn’t look the same as when I first bought them?

That’s a good thing! – only Timberland footwear is crafted using the finest selection of leathers in the world. From waterproof leathers that weather the extreme challenges of the elements, to rugged, supple leathers that endure through time and improve with age.

Natural leathers such as these have distinctive character all their own. The grainy texture, small scratches and colour highlights are their stamps of authenticity. Genuine oiled leathers may also develop a white surface haze known as “blooming”. This natural residue is nothing more than wax or oil rising to the surface and can easily be wiped off with a damp close. And since Timberland leather is never painted or coated, its natural colour may rub off onto socks the first few times they are worn.

Leather naturally changes colour overtime, enjoy the character your boots now have and think of all the adventures those boots went on to have this unique leather. No two pairs will ever look the same.

 

Can I polish my footwear?

Yes – always make sure to use the correct product care for the type of Timberland shoe/boot you own. Our store staff knows all the in’s and outs and will be able to tell you which products to use. If you use other product care it is done at your own risk.

 

How do I get an oil stain out of my boots?

Oil stain removal is very difficult. One thing that may help is brushing with a wire brush and Timberland product care, particularly if its nubuck leather. This is done at your own risk as some oil stains can’t be removed.

 

I have had my boots for a while now and I think the leather looks damaged faded etc, they just not fresh. Is this a defect product?

NO! – have you been looking after your boots with our product care? Leather shoes like ours need lots of love and attention in the form of product care to make them last longer.

 

My boots don’t look the same anymore?

Good! – They are leather shoes and the leather will change over time and character will be added when you wearing them.

There is no guarantee against normal wear and tear even if its within the 60day return policy especially if it is deemed to be in said “damaged” condition due to misuse, neglect, accident, modification or unauthorized repair.

Lastly no policy covers footwear if it’s been through normal wear and tear. Our boots and shoes are built to work hard, and no footwear can last forever (even ours!).

 

How hard can I press and use the eraser bar in the dry-cleaning kit?

To get deep stains like ink off the finished suede, you may need to work the eraser bar aggressively - but this may dull or damage the finish. One way to increase the effectiveness of the eraser bar is to add water to the bar and then use on the stains. Using the brush in the end is important in bringing the nap back.

 

How do you keep your leather footwear soft and supple?

Waximum™ Waxed Leather Protector is the star of the show here: This product softens leathers and also maintains the breathability of the material. Note that this is not for use on suede and nubuck leathers.

 

How do I clean and then protect against getting the “blue jean ring” around my boots?

In a few cases, this stubborn stain has been successfully removed using the Renewbuck™ cleaner, along with the dry-cleaning kit. Using the cleaner softens the finish, and then you can use the eraser bar to work through the stain. Of course, the biggest preventative is using Balm Proofer™ All-Purpose Protector as an initial protective barrier. Using the protector helps keep stains off AND helps with cleaning, if you get it before the stain’s really set in.

 

 

I see the term “AOX” a lot around product care/cleaning products. What is it, and why don’t Timberland cleaning products use it.

AOX (adsorbable organic halides) consist of a collection of organic compounds used in bleaching and cleaning. The reason these compounds pose a potential concern is because they resist breaking down in our environment. Some of the molecules are toxic at high concentrations, and can accumulate in the food chain through aquatic organisms. Therefore, we wanted to be sure that our product is AOX-free.

 

What’s the best way to store cleaning products?

Store product care in stable conditions – a place that doesn’t have a huge variance in temperature. Inside your house somewhere should be fine.

What are credit card security codes?

A Credit Card Identification Number is an added safeguard for your credit card purchases. This is the 3-digit code on the back of Visa, MasterCard. The Identification Number is required information to complete your order. During checkout, you’ll be prompted to enter this code.

For security purposes we do not store your Identification Number; therefore, you’ll have to re-enter it every time you use your card to make a purchase. 

 

How do I redeem promo/discount codes?

Promotion codes can be entered exactly as they appear in the space provided on the Shopping Cart and Checkout pages.

Codes are case sensitive.

After you’ve entered in the promo code, click "Apply."

If your discount qualifies, it will display in the payment summary.

How do I cancel the purchase of an e-Gift card?

The delivery date for e-Gift cards is immediate (as soon as payment is processed), your purchase cannot be cancelled.

Can I use this e-Gift card in store?

No, e-Gift cards are for online purchases only!

Can I buy an e-Gift Card for myself?

Yes. To do so, enter your own email address in the "Recipient Email" field, enter your own name as the recipient name, and complete the transaction. When you receive your e-Gift Card alert via email, follow the instructions in this message to retrieve and redeem your e-Gift Card.

When is the e-Gift card sent to the recipient?
